ENGAGEMENT: KATE & JOE

It began with a last minute phone call. Kate would be back in Ann Arbor just long enough to help Joe finish packing up their apartment, say a few farewells and get on the road to Seattle, where they pair were to relocate. With one exception.

Joe planned a sweet surprise engagement for Kate. He ordered a custom fairy door and picked the spot of the second date in Nichols Arboretum for the big reveal. The ring arrived on a Friday and the engagement happened on Saturday morning. All I had to do, was plant the door and ring and wait nervously in the bushes to photograph the big moment! Guess what? She said yes. :)

Following a few quick "we did it!" photos, Kate, Joe and I met up a couple days later to wander around Ann Arbor and take their official engagement photos. I think you can tell by the photos that we had a blast. 

Congrats Kate & Joe! Ann Arbor's loss, is Seattle's, gain.  I only wish I had met you two earlier, you are awesome! 

WEDDING: DAPHNA & KEITH

Daphna and Keith were students at the University of Michigan when they met and became friends. Friends who would carve out special time to catch up on their favorite TV shows, only with one another. "Friends" that clearly became more than friends and who are now, husband and wife! :)

While the pair currently reside in Washington, D.C., they came back to the the great state of Michigan for a lovely June wedding held at the Gem Theatre in Detroit, Mich. We stopped at the historic Guardian Building and along the Detroit Riverfront for some photos before the ceremony. 

ENGAGEMENT: COURTNEY & GREG

What do you say about someone who is like a sister to your own sister? Someone who has become family to your family because some relationships are just that way? Courtney has been around the Maxwell family as a best friend to my sister since as long as I can remember and it has been a pleasure to watch their friendship evolve. And I think it's safe to say that we couldn't be happier for Courtney and Greg as prepare to get married in Mexico this August. Mexico! Which is exactly what we were all imagining as we set out to take their engagement photos on the coldest day in January in Detroit.
