SENIORS: Alexa

What I know about high school senior Alexa, is that she is one cool girl. And after spending an evening shooting her senior photos with her mom and older brother, I know she has one cool family. From impromptu salsa lessons (given by mom) to striking muscle poses, our session was nothing but laughs. I left our shoot not thinking about the photos I just made, but what a good time I had. We also spotted three deer and zero spiders, too, right Ricky?

Meet Alexa's bro Rick. We recreated an image they took during Rick's senior photos a few years ago. Hat tip to Rick for being a supremeo lighting assistant and accepting Jolly Ranchers as payment.

Seniors: Ryan

Every once in awhile you meet a person that is just a natural in front of the camera. Ryan is a natural. Since I had to give him very little direction, we spent our session walking around the Arb (with his mom Kate, too!) taking photos and just having a conversation. Not a bad way to spend a late September evening! 

Ryan aspires to be a college professor and by the looks of him he's got some ivy league style. He loves history, is a student actor and makes films with his friends. Ryan is just your all around good guy!

The frame on the right reminds me of Clark Kent, all Ryan needs are some glasses. And a cape.

SENIORS: Madeline

Madeline is a local senior with a sweet disposition and some incredible loving parents. Her parents tagged along on our recent session at the University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens and were at the ready with a hair fix up, a bottle of water (even one for me!) and some of the best parent/assistant reflector holding I've had! Madeline is on her high school diving team and her schedule is packed with practices and competitions, so we motored through a humid evening (and a bee sting!) and made some great photos to mark her senior year.

We scored some left over wedding seating in the gardens. Gotta take advantage of what you have for a shoot!

Not only did we utilize the seating, we also came across a few bottles of bubbles! Who doesn't love bubbles??

Pretty sure these are my favorite, I love the wind in Madeline's hair.

Cue high school nostalgia for my varsity jacket.
