SENIORS: Jackie

Trust me when I tell you that Jackie is as happy and sweet as she looks in these photos! We spent two hours shooting her senior photos at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum on a recent Sunday evening. And while I was literally melting from the heat and humidity, Jackie never broke a sweat or let that smile fade. She has a great attitude and I had a blast getting to hang out with her for an evening.

I'm gunna start this post with one of my favorite photos from our shoot. I think this one shows how Jackie shines, just look at that smile!

Love this photo, too! Such a beauty!

Jackie has eyelashes for MILES!

Jackie really wanted a couple photos ankle-deep in the Huron River. This one feels like it would make a pretty nice country record cover. ;)

Best of luck during your senior year, Jackie! :)

A Window Seat

I just got home from a short, yet somehow long, weekend in Dallas Texas. I was sent to cover the Michigan football team play Alabama in the Cowboy Classic at the legendary Cowboy Stadium. This post, however, is not about football! (But if you are curious you can click here.)

Somehow I managed to score a direct flight on the way to DFW. 2-and-a-half-hours and I was there in no time flat! I wasn't so lucky on the return trip, with a 5 a.m. wake-up call and a layover in St. Lake City. I've never flown out of St. Lake, so I had no idea how amazing the airport was or the surrounding area. So there I found myself, tucked into a window seat, and no polite way to get to my cameras in the overhead compartment. Thank goodness for my handy iPhone! Check out a few photos from my birds eye view over some pretty amazing landscapes.

These photos have such a painterly feeling.

SENIORS: Johanna

Johanna's a swimmer, lifeguard and all around busy gal. When we first scheduled her senior session we picked a day a few weeks out hoping we'd snag some nice weather. Turned out our shoot had to be rescheduled due to a little rain. And then we hit bad weather on our second date and then again (for real) on the third and then finally, the FOURTH time was the charm! Our scheduling patience paid off and the weather fairy granted us a gold mine of amazing weather and light.  Because we scored so big with awesome light, I decided to showcase only color photos in this post!

We hit up Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor for an evening of shooting.

We chased some seriously gorgeous light and it paid us back big time!

This girl has style! I love these blue pants, so cute. And the photo on the left, my favorite. Check out those swimmer arms, so buff!

Wishing you an awesome senior year, Johanna!
